The New Mexico Credentialing Board for Behavioral Health Professionals (NMCBBHP) is a proud community of Behavioral Health Professionals.
We are dedicated to the certification of Prevention Professionals, Alcohol and Drug Counselors, Clinical Supervisors, Peer Support Workers, Family Peer Support Workers, Youth Peer Support Specialists and Wrap Facilitators in the State of New Mexico. Collaborating with our partners and peers, we work to ensure the highest certification standards are met.
The first administration date for the updated ADC and PS examinations, is Wednesday, March 1, 2023

With an ever-growing need for behavioral health professionals, NMCBBHP is elevating the way the certification process is experienced in New Mexico. We are meeting the unseen need and ever-changing landscape of behavioral health and building bridges for long-term professional success.
By process of a meticulous certification and credentialing program, only those individuals committed to the highest ethical and professional accountability standards are credentialed. Our commitment is to prepare individuals to enter the workforce with certifications that meet or exceed the national standard.
As a member of the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC) and Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse (AODA), through NMCBBH Prevention Professionals and Alcohol and Drug Counselors can become internationally recognized. IC&RC offers NMCBBHP members internationally recognized reciprocal credentials and examinations for prevention, substance use treatment, and recovery professionals.
